Our client a well-known manufacturer of medical product based in the Elgin area seeks a Human Resources Manager.
Develop and manage HR policies, processes, services and programs consistent with the Company’s strategic goals and in compliance with applicable law. Provide guidance to management on HR matters. Contribute to the achievement of results by championing a culture that facilitates development of teams and individuals, through practices, programs and nurturing of a culture that enables the Company to attract develop and retain team members who become our competitive advantage.
- Departmental Leadership and Strategic Planning
- Hire, develop and provide training to Human Resources Staff
- Ensure policies and procedures are applied consistently
- Collaborate with management to reach strategic company goals and champion change.
- Provide research and develop processes or solutions to achieve HR goals
- Ensure the development of HR program align with the Company’s strategic needs
- Human Resources
- Guide and support management by identifying practical, cost effective and progressive solutions to a variety of HR subjects.
- Ensure day-to-day support is provided to all employees
- Advise senior management of all HR issues and significant developments
- Ensure HR policies and handbook are current
- Ensure use of proper and legal recruitment procedures, internal and external Facilitate the performance management process
- Ensure the consistent and legal application of policy and procedure in all involuntary terminations
- Manage and administer all employee benefit programs; including the Affirmative Action Program
- Manage and administer a job evaluation process and annual salary administration program.
- Maintain HR documentation, e.g. salary survey, compensation records, performance review, accident reports, etc.
- Collaboration and Support
- Collaborate with all departments to ensure alignment of HR initiatives
- Collaborate with corporate HR and Canadian HR Directors within the Trudell Medical Group to maintain similar practices among facilities
- Collaborate with Corporate legal counsel, external corporate approved legal counsel, government agencies, and network of professionals.
- Collaborate and support the payroll function
- Regulatory Functions and Policy
- Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations and legislation
- Ensure proper management of injury records for OSHA reporting.
- Complies with all procedures and policies concerning quality and medical devices regulations
- Communication
- Ensure HR related information is communicated to all employees
- Health and Safety
- Contribute to a safe work environment by complying with all federal & state laws, Northgate policies, procedures and OSHA, if applicable
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s in Business or related field
- Human Resources Certification an asset
- 5 years of experience in a human resource generalist role
- Supervisory experience preferred
