Key Account Manager

Our client, a leading Global Fill\Finish CDMO, seeks a Key Account Manager to call on new and existing accounts in the Northeast.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for driving clinical and commercial contract manufacturing sales in the area
  • Responsible for developing and growing existing client’s clinical and commercial contract manufacturing sales

Tasks:

  • Identifies and qualifies prospective companies within territory to determine target list
  • Calls on biotechnological and pharmaceutical companies and respond to leads on a regular basis
  • Creates and cultivates common lead database
  • Develops new business opportunities and demonstrates active customer interaction
  • Develops active relationship to relevant consultants
  • Become a key member of a high-performance sales team within an established and respected international firm
  • Comfortable working within an international, multi-disciplinary team

  • Coordinate the activities of internal resources at company headquarters in Ravensburg, Germany as well as at the clinical site of excellence in Chicago, IL to support the sales effort, expand business opportunities within the account, manage ongoing service performance and meet performance objectives
  • Proactively develop and lead strategic account-planning activities for individual key accounts
  • Proactively and reactively assess customer needs and develop solutions within the company to respond to these needs by coordinating internal resources and involving company personnel
  • Negotiate CDA’s, Development and Commercial Supply Agreements, manage Quality Agreements with QP, all with support of the legal group and management
  • Prepare regular reports such as monthly reports, account plans (updates 2X annually), and respond to marketing information requests
  • Domestic travel in East region (1-3 day trips – 2x to 3x monthly) based on market demand 

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an applied science or engineering field
  • Sales experience in life-science industry preferred
  • Project management experience
  • Intercultural awareness and experience working with non-domestic mother companies
  • Practical computer/software skills including, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Lotus Notes, LinkedIn, Internet use, etc.
